In The Driver's Seat

DIRECTORS

In 2024, after ten years of building Redback Express into a successful and reputable business, founding Directors Martin Cini and John Morris transitioned into retirement leaving Warren Day to continue their conventions.

Warren’s also been a Managing Director since the company’s initial beginnings, absorbing Martin’s knowledge and experience from a career dedicated entirely to local Adelaide transport. Martin’s successes were many prior to Redback Express and this venture has continued that custom.

Martin’s character will forever be entwined in the Redback Express DNA and it is exemplified by the like-minded staff chosen to manage operations accordingly. This can be encapsulated in one word; care. All staff care about every job that is entrusted to Redback Express.

Although younger, John was also a career transport provider in many different capacities, ultimately managing the Redback Express finances, where he achieved a constant solid and healthy financial status. This largely enabled the acquisition of Mainfast Carrying Services, which included warehousing and 3 PL work.  From predominantly empty to overflowing, this has proven to be one of Redback Express’ biggest success stories.

Warren is the ‘jack of all trades’ who has worked in all facets of the business and is driven by a dogged determination to do what needs to be done to get the job done. Admin and finance management dominated his career along with a dose of OHS&W and Quality management but when he worked alongside Martin his skills expanded into business development and logistics. All this varied experienced placed him in good stead when Martin and John exited.

Glenn Stone commenced in early 2024, primarily to take over Martin’s business development and client relationship management roles. Twelve months after commencing with Redback Express he gave the company its greatest commendation; he was so impressed with the business he bought into it.

Speaking of buying in, Owen Leggett accepted the invitation of Martin and John to buy their shares and having spent most of his life managing the family transport company, his business acumen and experience only ads to the strength and stability of Redback Express.

Together, Warren and Glenn, and their team of talented and dedicated staff provide their clients with the reliable and effective service they want and need. The core values established when the business was created more than a decade ago continue to be evident to business operations today.

Paul Roberts

The longest serving employee of the Redback Express team, Paul has cemented himself as the backbone of the operation. With experience in both taxi and courier despatching, Paul seamlessly fitted into despatching, originally managing trucks and couriers simultaneously. As the business has grown these have been segregated and Paul now oversees both despatchers while taking care of peripheral operational matters.

Paul is also our one man I.T. Department which has been invaluable to the business. He continually works with our transport software designers to ensure our business and our clients are achieving maximum benefits and his advice on hardware investment is vital to prudent acquisitions.

Selena Demmrich

Despatcher – Courier and Ute

A former colleague of Warren’s when they worked together in a large capacity courier company, he was all too aware of her despatch capabilities and ability to cope with a high volume of jobs. He was able to secure her services in 2024 and she manages the daily logistics load of the courier and ute fleet.

Nathan Modra

Despatcher – Trucks

One of the newest members of the team, Nathan joined the operations team in late 2025 and immediately demonstrated a genuine commitment to the culture of the business. His courier delivery experience provided him with a thorough geographical knowledge of Adelaide as well as an awareness of the issues that drivers can face when completing deliveries. His commitment and willingness to learn and take on more has seen his role expand beyond the day-to-day management of truck jobs.

Jo-Anne Farrell

Jo-Anne joined us a number of years ago armed with a solid knowledge of Xero and experience in managing the finances of the family business. Originally tasked with the book-keeping function in a part time capacity she quickly demonstrated that her abilities well exceeded basic book-keeping. As she acquired knowledge of the business operations she took on additional tasks and in the process was appointed to a full time role. Today she is our finance engine room, working closely with our external accountants.

Michelle Holzberger

Operations Admin & Finance

Michelle has become another long-term employee who was new to transport upon her arrival in 2022 and floats between operations and finance. Always keen to learn more and take on more, she is a primary point of contact for clients when arranging jobs. A friendly and bubbly voice on the end of the phone and an efficient and thorough service via email, she is a primary reason behind our regular positive feedback from clients about our service. She is our “pocket rocket”. Michelle often follows a job through from booking and execution through to pricing.
